I use the portable version of XY which makes backups very easy.
Using a ZPAQ backup of the whole tree (excluding the thumbnails)
gives me access to all previous version in one archive.
As ZPAQ is deduplicating the stored data, the archive size is moderate.

Ignoring Close confirmations is enough, any additional step is wasting users time.
People ignoring such confirmations will also do other harm to their system
and no programming will stop them
Btw. deleting an important e-mail is not the same as simply closing a tab.

Basically a good idea, but button bar space is more limited than context menu entries.
For me, the best way is to use a hotkey for such functions.

Calibre doesn't bring any Explorer Preview function
so XY will not display a preview for it.
There is no OS native epub previewer and also no public available epub preview tools.
Using a tool like DarkThumbs you can get a thumbnail view of the cover page.
