Two long-standing, major issues with XY
Hi, I've been an XY user for around a year now I think, and while there are a lot of really great things about XY, there are two major problems that are making me lean more towards a competing product instead. 1) General instability and unresponsiveness when working with network drives and shares. T...

Re: Move to recently used tab
I also strongly support a Firefox / Visual Studio like pop-up menu with a list of tabs. It's quite cumbersome to work between two different folders if you have a lot of other folders open, as you have to ctrl+tab a lot between the tabs.
If you can make it work just like in FF/VS, I'd be very happy.

Tab with network path open becomes useless after a while
XY version: 8.40.0117 I've had this problem ever since I began using XY. If I open a network path (for example \\192.168.2.2\somefolder), it works fine. I browse it, copy files, etc. Then half a day or a full day later (can't tell the exact time before it happens), when I click the tab (or navigate ...

Re: New/rename folder: Endless "Confirm Folder Replace" dialogs
Sorry forgot to mention that I'm using Vista 64-bit. Yeah I guess the problem is that it doesn't switch focus back to the edit box.admin wrote:Hm, this does not happen under XP.
It looks like a focus problem to me. After you click No the focus should go back to the edit box. But it does not, right?

New/rename folder: Endless "Confirm Folder Replace" dialogs
Hi, Using version 8.40.0117, I have this bug to report. :) Repro steps: 1) Go to any folder 2) Create a folder named "temp" (or anything) 3) Hit Ctrl+N to create another new folder - OR - rename an existing folder 4) Write "temp" as the folder name (same as in step 2) and press e...

Re: XYplorer hangs, causes 100% CPU
8.10's type-ahead search is as broken as in v7.90, and furthermore stops working at random. Can't use this new version

Re: XYplorer hangs, causes 100% CPU
Same problem, this is a killer ... Are you using the latest BETA version? (8.10.0010 from 2009-08-04 17:17) I was using the public 8.10, trying the latest beta (8.10.0010) now. From a quick test it seems that the type-ahead searching is again "broken" like I reported in that thread. :( Bu...

Re: XYplorer hangs, causes 100% CPU
Same problem, this is a killer :(. XY ends up using 50% CPU (100% of one core). And I was quite happy that the type-ahead search was basically fixed. I'm using version 8.10 on Vista 64-bit. I was able to reproduce it 3 times by going to the same folder and beginning to type. The folder that caused t...

Re: A bunch of bug reports
Well, what's better? What's expected. What's the standard? I could easily change it to trigger only after loading is completed. I know it's probably a hated argument to bring up, but try it with the standard Windows Explorer. Even if you begin typing the instant you enter a folder (with the enter k...

Re: A bunch of bug reports
The last letter must be typed when the list is completely loaded. It's not possible otherwise because it's the typing itself that triggers the search. Other than that the type-ahead is as live as can be. You can find items in the list while the list is still loading. But of course you cannot find i...

Re: A bunch of bug reports
If that's the case, and I'm not mistaken, you could use this tweak to show the list after it's loaded, right? ; Tweak: set to 1 to display new List contents only after all items have been retrieved and sorted NoDisplayBeforeSort=1 Which may fix the problem? That makes it much more snappy and easy t...

Re: A bunch of bug reports
5) Rather not change it. Shift+enter could be useful in future. 6a) Works fine here. 6b) is ok for me 7) it waits until the list is completely loaded Other points: Cannot do anything about it. Thanks, Don You're right, 6a) and 6b) work and are not bugs. It was just hard to see as the location drop-...
