Re: XYplorer hangs with lots of EXEs (antivirus real-time sc
I'm not sure when the particular FAQ went up, but this is the first time I've seen that post. The last time I read the FAQ is probably on the order of years. All I can say is that I've searched the forum numerous times for this behavior, but I never found anything that characterized it. (Believe me,...

XYplorer hangs with lots of EXEs (antivirus real-time scan)
I finally tracked down the reason why XYplorer hangs (or is otherwise very unresponsive) for a while when I try to view a folder full of largish executables (such as a healthy GOG.com collection). It turns out that, at least with Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus, the default behavior of real-...

Re: How to select the item in focus after folder change?
A common scenario for me is when I'm navigating with the keyboard. When I want to enter a subfolder, I'll arrow (or type) to it and press enter. However, when the focus is already on the folder I want but it's not selected, I have to arrow down+up, or space bar, or similar. Ditto with anything I use...

How to select the item in focus after folder change?
I feel like I might be missing a configuration setting somewhere. When I change folders in XYplorer, the first item automatically takes focus. However, it is not selected. In order to select it, I have to manually press the space bar (or click it). Is there a setting that automatically selects the i...

Re: Toggle Flat View
OK, so here's where I'm at with it. I created a User-Defined Command called "Toggle Flat View" and specified this script: if (get("view") == 0) {goto <curpath_s>;} else {#263;} Though I don't think it's very robust because it assumes that the search results display in the current...

Toggle Flat View
OK, so I've been spending an evening trying to work out how to do some things in XYplorer that I've been using other file managers for in the meantime. I figure that if I can make XYplorer "mine" (that is, configure it to work in the same way that I like to work...or at least 90% of the wa...

Optimal-Sized Columns in List View
I didn't find this wish already posted, but then again, the forum does not let me search for "list" (even in topics only!)... =) Of all the views, I use List View most often. Ever since Vista introduce the feature, I've wanted to see "optimal" sized columns in XYplorer, where eac...

Re: Scroll Tree (Left/Right) to Keep Selection in View
Oh that's interesting; I was running 9.30.0012, and I hadn't seen that feature yet. I guess it's OK... but I really want the tree to left-justify the selected folder's parent at the moment any folder change occurs.
And yes, I agree that options are very good things. =)

Scroll Tree (Left/Right) to Keep Selection in View
One little annoyance I have with using the tree in a deeply nested folder is that I constantly find myself having to scroll the tree left and right to keep the current hierarchy in view. I wish that it would automatically scroll such that the current selected directory (or its parent directory) was ...

Re: Freeze during copying on Vista 32-bit
Yes.Do you get the same problem with right-mouse dragging to the desktop (and then selecting option from context menu)?
I checked the results with other virtual folders too--same.

Re: Freeze during copying on Vista 32-bit
So I'm trying out version 9.00.0010 for the first time, and XYcopy seems to work great for same-volume copy operations. Let me tell you, it's a breath of fresh air. However, when I copy (or move) across volumes, I get the old behavior with this message when I try to activate the XYplorer window duri...

Re: Freeze during copying on Vista 32-bit
I don't mind "background processing." I wouldn't know what "use xycopy" means. But here's another suggestion that might work: "Launch copy operations in a separate process." This kind of mirrors the WE option "Launch folder windows in a separate process," so m...

Re: Can't delete more than 2 GB at a time?
Just to follow up here, I tried to reproduce the issue a bunch of times, under a variety or scenarios, trying to isolate the case. Unfortunately, it takes a while for each case to reproduce since I have to regenerate a bunch of data (i.e. copy, copy, copy). I have not been able to reproduce it as ye...

Can't delete more than 2 GB at a time?
Granted, it doesn't happen very often, but here's what happened:
1) Found all files (interim build files) I wanted to delete in subdirectories with ?*.ext
2) Select all search results (CTRL+A) = 34 GB
3) Press Delete, confirm
Only 2 GB were deleted.
