Re: Why use 64bit?
Well, looking at the list posted by Don, I think the first and last point are - kind of - the most important for Don... First: There will be no need for work-arounds to interact with 64bit applications anymore... which are definitely going to increase in percentage rather than decrease. Less unneces...

Re: Where's history for 64-beta?
I think, as long as we have both additions, we should keep histories separate. History.txt and History64.txt... if we have a History64 at all. For me, the Forum is fine, too. Once XY64 finally releases, both Histories could (and maybe should) merge. Unless x32 (currently 27.10.0900) reaches x64 vers...

Re: Can someone set me straight on the latest releases?
As of (just) now, the latest XY32 version (27.10.0601) does offer an option to Upgrade to the latest (currently beta) Version of XY64.Vocalpoint wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 14:48 And stil no (easy) sign of a transition to this "new" 64 bit version.

Re: Suffix and Prefix in file's names
A bit late for a reply - but I use "Bulk Rename Utility" a brilliant, very comprehensive and best of all free program that once installed appears in the right click menu of Xyplorer. Although scripts can do the job this program is far, far better and much simpler to use. AQ I tried this t...

Re: Can someone set me straight on the latest releases?
Fair enough. I think I will stay with what I have until such time that I see a reason to switch. That's definitely a valid choice. I use XY VERY heavily here and one thing I do not need is instability. Well... I can't say I see any instability in XY64 right now. Not a single crash since I switched....

Re: Can someone set me straight on the latest releases?
I suppose Don is still waiting for some final issues with twinBASIC to be fixed before he integrates migration from 32bit to 64bit into the update routine. For me the 64bit version is definitely stable enough for usage, but I suppose that depends of how extreme you are using XY features. I consider ...

Re: Please keep updating homepage FAQs
That's true, but the reason some pages are not listed in the FAQ is not because I'm overworked, but because I carefully decided which pages to include and which to leave out. Yeah, I know... I just wanted to add that part, because it's still incredible, how much you're archiving, considering you're...

Re: Please keep updating homepage FAQs
You also have to understand, Don is doing this basically all on his own. He's doing the coding and updating the help files as needed, as well as updating the homepage when necessary. The only thing he's not doing all by himself is support in this forum... Since we have a great community here trying ...

Re: Move on Rename into virtual Folders...
I'm not against Paper Folders... But I'm not sure it would display like real folders with "fake" names, etc... I don't know how Don might consider adding something like that. I don't think something like this is already there. Remember: Inside my "fake" virtual folders, the files...

Re: A Preview for Libre Office files
I read somewhere that work on OO ceased in 2014, so LO is the only one in current development. Well... the latest Version of OpenOffice is 4.1.15 released in Dec 2023, and the latest news post is from April 2024... That's definitely not very recent/active, but definitely far from being dead since 2...

Move on Rename into virtual Folders...
Ok, I have to admit: This might sound somewhat crazy. I imagine this feature working like a real Special Rename with Move on Rename... So the base is some kind of Search-Replace action resulting in a Replace, usually including Moving into Subfolders... That's something we already can do... But in my...

Re: Access to Android smartphones via MTP or via ADB protocol?
Hasn't ADB been taken down by Google? As far as I remember, ADB isn't doing much good anymore... Or was it just backing up apps via ADB that got removed?

Re: Good morning everyone, let me introduce myself + some questions
Daniele, XYplorer is a flood of functions and settings! Yes, sometimes it can feel too much even for long time users. I second this. I'm using XY for >10 years now and barely use or understand 25% of it. But luckily we got a very nice developer doing this, who's extremely helpful here in ...

Access to MRU Live Filters via List Management
Unless this is already present somewhere I didn't notice:
Can you add a method to modify the (new) Life Filter MRU List so I can Remove unwanted entries?
As far as I know, all other lists are accessible and can be edited. The new MRU for Life Filters seems inaccessible.
