Re: no network computers

Your term "just installed XY on a new computer build" kind of implied that you did so with a recent version of XY, so in the future the XY version is an important piece of info for all trying to help.

Re: Help.... can't find answer re tree / panes

Welcome to the forum! First up, there is no dual tree in XY and judging from past replies to such requests by admin not likely to happen anytime soon, please search for dual tree in the forum to find the various threads to the topic. There are many other ways discussed to almost achieve this but rea...

Re: XYplorer became slow

Did you recently add any custom columns to your list that might take some time to gather the necessary information?

Re: Audio only in video previews

Well, you should probably read up on what fresh; actually does - it clearly is not meant to persist between restarts nor does it keep your settings, it creates a new fresh instance of XY with vanilla factory defaults applied. So, if your problem exists with your config but not in fresh then the hunt...

Re: Show/Reveal/Expand Selected List Folder in Tree?

No, I meant Ctrl + Dbl Click but the crucial part you might have missed is "in the background" of tree, i.e. not clicking on any folder in the tree. Shift + Click opens a new tab with the folder clicked and AFAIK I haven't changed any of the defaults in this regard but then again my ini file is very...

Re: Show/Reveal/Expand Selected List Folder in Tree?

How about Ctrl + Dbl Click in the tree's background, which puts the current list folder in view in the tree?

Re: How to start XYplorer faster?

The nasty one is actually "Enumerating Network Servers", so I would rather play with the settings in the "General/Controls and More/Network" section to reduce the current 10+ minutes XY spends on this task. Assume that servers exist and Cache Network Servers would be my first choices to check and se...

Re: Unable to copy file using a script

The "|" char is not used to separate source and target of a copy operation, you should look at some examples in the help file. Okay, maybe I should have added: "|" is used to separate different source files but for your intended use you might want to change the command to "copyto" and then you stil...

Just tested, same result as admin = no such problem.
Maybe some special constellation font- or window-scaling wise?

Re: Custom copy failures

Ask has the slight disadvantage that the file operations pauses until you answered the question. Not ideal for big jobs you would like to run unattended. I liked the part of your request for it to do what it can and then deal with the remnants at the end. If this was possible with "Ask" that would b...

Re: XYplorer hangs with preview pane

Another option might be to remove the extensions of the files in question from the list of previewed formats in XY so it wouldn't even attempt to preview them.

Re: Opening Folders Issue

The contents of the folders might also be responsible especially if one contains a significant number of .exe or .dll files,
which would again trigger your AV software to work hard thus causing the delay.

Re: Script not producing expected results

The file loses focus when you click your catalog item thus copying the parent folder name to the clipboard. To prevent this, either: 1. Use Ctrl+Shift+P or 2. Create a User Button for it or 3. Make your catalog script a multiline script as follows: focus l; #102 Where the first command puts the focu...

Re: Crossing the software Rubicon

And on top of everything why would we care what Ubuntu does?
Until M$ drops support for 32bit applications I'm quite happy with XY staying the way it is.
