Re: XYPlorer ON; laptop locks up (Win10 64bit w/Win10 Creator Update)

Thanks for the quick reply. :) I see that folks are talking at MS forum about all kinds of issues with Edge (I don't use it) and some MS Mail issues. Then, I see from searching, that there is a new Win Update (KB4022716) 15063.447 -- and I already see that folks are having issues with it....but the ...

XYPlorer ON; laptop locks up (Win10 64bit w/Win10 Creator Update)

Problem: Bought another Win10 64 bit laptop...but this one has Win10 Creator Update. Installed XYPLORER (and removed) several times and even installed the latest BETA and made sure NORTON was shut down at the time. All my attempts to use XYPlorer on my new laptop have same problem: Locks up computer...

Yes, I did see that. TIME. If only you could expand it. It's so linear, so narrow. <sigh>

Please put 'expand time' on your Planning To-Do List, Don. (Oh, it's already ON your list?) :o

OMG... I would love that feature. Comment column, sortable or not...or Tags would be cool. Any other WE replacement product have anything like that? I would use it in so many ways. (Sort of Note to Self flags.)

i gotcha first time, Ax. :) i think Don will not try to put pleasing us (or a few of us??) in front of his artistry wants. but until he hollers, i think he's made this the Beta Club so that folks can chat it up about what makes sense to them. HE's THE DECIDER. hehe...  oh god, george bu...

Take a look at the Duplicate Finder that Dopus has. I have used (and own) several Folder/File Comparison/Merge programs. My fav so far is Beyond Compare. But they are all way more involved than what is needed for XY, in my opinion and looking at them will only be messy, if u ask me - so many feature...

Ya, but for our purposes, just peeking inside to look would be enough, if Don didn't feel like going whole hog into it. <whole hog...hmmm...American for 'totally immersed' ?? over and above?? beyond the most basic?> There are easy ways to find duplicate names of things...desktop search progra...

Same content. Peeks inside various files and checks for identicalness.

I have amassed tons of them. It can happen. ;)

Split/Join programs abound (I sometimes use them) but 'find duplicate files' (as I know one competitor has), now *there* is something that would be lovely to have. :)

I think perhaps you are describing something that has frustrated me for years with Win Exp. I use NoteTab <http://www.notetab.com/>. I have never figured out the pattern, but now that you mention it I guess it is: can open more than one file into one instance of NoteTab **ONLY** if I open them from ...

Sounds good. Wish I did. I've searched my h/d and the internet. No recipe turned up. Sorry. Perhaps another dance/another country for tonight? ;) I'm off to bed but will check around and eventually we will find you that recipe. Sounds kinda like one they sell at Trader Joe's in USA. Search Results - I love you, Don!! So many choices to save!

Don, Call me an idiot perhaps; maybe there are myriads of ways to do it without using XY,,,,but I've fought my computer for *years* when it comes to saving search results. All I've ever wanted is the LIST...the name and the path...where .mc2's reside on my computer, what they are named. (These are s...

You reviewed the installer! Interesting move... Shrewd XY'er, aren't I? Hmmm... well, I did THREE reviews and none were where you are pointing me, Don. Guess I am spreading the word liberally, you might say. ;) :? Oh dear..... Edited to say: Done! Still wish it would show me actually U...
