Re: Drag stops working

I think you jynxed it ... Thanks for all the logs, but unfortunately they don't explain anything. They look 100% alright. The probably must be somewhere else, outside XYplorer. Are you maybe using a 3rd party Windows theme? No 3rd party themes or anything like that. I do notice that it usually begi...

Re: Drag stops working

Maybe this will help. I still have XY open in the broken right click drag state. By habit, I'm still trying to do right click drags and one time I got a "Shell drop failed" error immediately (normally in this state it does not return an error - the drag just does not begin).

Re: Drag stops working

And here is the output from a single failed right click drag: 16:11:16.599 >> MayDrag: 2, 0, False, False, 2, 1, 1 16:11:16.611 >> MayDrag: 2, 0, False, False, 2, 1, 1 16:11:16.623 >> MayDrag: 2, 0, False, False, 2, 1, 1 16:11:16.628 >> MayDrag: 2, 0, False, False, 2, 1, 1 16:11:16.655 >> MayDrag: 2...

Re: Drag stops working

I think you jynxed it :P I just had it happen in v 17.50.0205. Left click drags are still working, but right click drags stopped. The forward/back buttons on the mouse also started navigating two levels instead of one as well. Here is the tail of the log. I truncated it because it was 7400 lines :P ...

Re: Drag stops working

So I just wanted to chime in again and say that I am still running 17.50.0106 and it is 100% fixed for me in this version (I haven't even closed XY since I first installed last week). The issue was happening several times a day for me and it has not happened a single time in 0106. I'm going to go ah...

Re: Drag stops working

Well rats. .0202 drag quit working. I had just batch renamed some files using a string with * to preserve existing name after creating a couple of new folders and dragging files to the new folders. My gut feel is that drag quits working after creating a few new folders (I use FileMenuTools to creat...

Re: Drag stops working

I still have not had the issue with 17.50.0106 and I've been pushing XY as hard as I can over the past few days. I really do think it's fixed in this version...I'm actually kind of scared to upgrade to a newer version because this one is working so well  m48tx - Still no issue with 17.50.0200?

Re: Drag stops working

After restarting XY behaves as expected for little while and then the problem occurs again. The debug code will be in the beta versions for one week: v17.50.0106 - 2017-01-30 15:38 > List: Added a DEBUG LOG to drag and drop to hunt down an error where drag stops working for some reason. To show the...

Re: Drag stops working

... it only affects XY ... OK, but at the same time it only affects you. :) A tough one. I don't see anything in the code that could explain this. :| Yea I hear you. Seems to affect m48tx as well. Is there a place I can download older final/beta XY versions from, preferably portable? If so, I'll se...

Re: Drag stops working

Cold reboot Windows? It's definitely not a Windows issue - it only affects XY and began in a version prior to my original post. Like I mentioned it used to affect both left and right click drags, but in some recent (month or so) version left click drags started working again when the issue occurs. ...

Re: Drag stops working

Are you dragging *over* the windows of other software? I have at least one software here that destroys the dragging when I drag over it. No - The file doesn't even begin dragging. It's as if I just clicked on it and let go. Actually I should clarify. It's not as if I let go because the context menu...

Re: Drag stops working

Just figured I'd bump this as it still happens several times a day for me. However, the behavior has changed slightly since a version a month or two ago (not exactly sure when). Now, left click drags continue to work , but right click drags still do not. The issue with the back/forward mouse buttons...

Re: Show deletion type on custom delete prompt

I would if I could. But there is no clear way to decide what kind of delete will happen. So I'm not sure if there is a method in the Windows API that let's you get the recycle bin status for a particular folder, but if there is maybe someone could chime in as that would be easiest :) . Assuming the...
