After hitting Ctrl+Shift+T to get the tablist, I used to be able to hit a number which would take me straight to a particular tab.

This functionality disappeared some time ago.

Have I accidentally disabled it?

Is it possible to get it back?

Thanks for your reply. So apart from using Open Office, there's nothing I can do, and I'll have to continue with File Locator. No- the menu is not visible - see screenshot below

When I press ALT, nothing happens

However, it's still working in other applications like Word

Re - loading a language file - not knowingly

It's still in English - I mean the right click menus are still in English

Is there a shortcut that I may have accidentally hit - which removes and disables the dropdowns?
