No worries - using the 'only show file info on icon hover' fix is a great workaround - so happy to be around the seemingly random lag I would experience whenever I went into a folder with lots of video. Thanks!

I've been experiencing this for a while and just now decided to search the bug forum for it and happened upon this topic. Was there ever an updated fix beyond disabling file info tips? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies - guess everyone's just a little different. Even when you shift-delete you still get prompted and get a chance to cancel the delete... Is there by chance a way to have the delete button on the toolbar permanently delete files instead of sending them to the recycle bin? I realize shift clicking the button does this, but was hoping to have a way to do it with a single mouse click.
