Re: Need help troubleshooting network slowness
Sorry, I know this thread is really old, but I've been experiencing this laggy EXE issue on my Synology network for a while. Finally got fed up and decided to search. Adding xy to the exceptions list in Windows 8 defender fixed this. Finally no more lag. Thank you!

I'm falling behind on my beta updates. Thanks! Just noticed a 10.30 was released, installing now!

Re: Copy Folder Structure Only Without Files
Hiya! Not sure if this is happening with anyone else, but I think in recent versions, this feature broke. I used to use this often, and now when I use it, when I paste let's say 5 folders, I see: Folder Folder-01 Folder-01-01 Folder-01-01-01 Folder-01-01-01-01 Rather than the true folder structure a...

Re: Icons for scripts in the catalog / CFA?
I admit it looks terrible. Not sure what to do though. In other contexts it's useful to have the overlays IMO. Well that's why I was thinking that perhaps treating a user defined icon as permission to hide the overlay would be an acceptable compromise. I agree they have a purpose and could be usefu...

Re: Icons for scripts in the catalog / CFA?
I tried it without quotes and it worked. Hopefully it works for IanH as well.
It also works for apps or other things in the catalog as well, which is pretty nice, not just scripts. Time to update my "blank windows command prompt" icon for some of my shortcuts!

Re: Icons for scripts in the catalog / CFA?
Very cool. It works on my system. It even works with relative paths (Data\Icons\.....) so that I can keep it completely portable. Nice! I originally thought this would also change the icons in a list, say if I change what icon *.zip would show so it could override what I currently have, but I think ...

Re: XY and DO -- another view
At a tangent -- on catalogs. Suppose I want a catalog that shows all images in the current folder and its dependent subfolders. In Opus, I can choose a flat view for a folder, then -- if necessary -- filter the list. How do I use a catalog to do that? XYplorer uses its Find Files function to gather...

Re: how to empty recycle bin without prompt?
Hello, Here's another way to empty the recycle bin with one click. Download a small command prompt program from http://www.nirsoft.net called "NirCmd" What I did was create a new catalog entry and called it "empty Recycle Bin" and then for the application string I used: "..\...

Re: F2 Rename Cycle with arrow key modifier
while right and left do feel more natural based off what littleBIG said, I never caught that hitting down did what I wanted it to do. Thank you grindax! I'll just train myself to use down, not an issue. I just tried it and hitting up goes to the beginning which is pretty cool. Though I do see little...

F2 Rename Cycle with arrow key modifier
Heya, It seems like every week I learn something new and cool I can do with XY to make my life easier. One thing that I thought might be a simple wish was a modification to a feature when you hit F2 to rename a file. Currently the cycle is: F2 once: highlights name sans extension F2 twice: highlight...

Re: Can TrackerV3 be told to return Random results?
Sorry for bring up a dead thread, but this is awesome! I've been looking for a way to randomize photos so that I can rename them in the random order. I needed this because the "random" feature on my digital frame sucks. I have 2,000 photos on it, and it randomizes the same 100 pictures ove...

Re: Grass
In fact, it has multiple panes. One tree pane on the left, one informational pane on the bottom, one file pane in the middle. But I guess they didn't get it right. That's what I was thinking they meant. Amazing how dense some people are. They're quick to respond on message boards so they don't look...

Re: Send to... Bluetooth
Wow, talk about fast response! Yep, the system I use bluetooth on is 64bit, and my work computer, while 32bit, doesn't have bluetooth, so I couldn't test. That might be it. I'll see if there's a 32bit workaround for my bluetooth. I did see that 64bit was in the future for XY so it's not a real biggi...

Send to... Bluetooth
Hiya! So far, I'm enjoying xyplorer. It's been a huge help in my workflow. One thing that I use when I'm sending stuff to my phone is the "Send to" shortcut when you right click. In windows explorer, there is a "send to bluetooth" option. XYPlorer does not show this. So when I ne...
