XYplorer 20.00 has been released on 20-May-2019. Here’s a quick introduction to the main new features:

  • Recent Location Pins. Navigating a huge folder tree is much easier with pins at your recently visited locations. One of those features you will never want to miss again.

The first thing you do is turn them on: Simply click menu Tools | Customize Tree | Recent Location Pins. That’s all. Now you should see something like this in the folder tree:

The 4 pins show you where you've been recently. Left image Dark Mode, right image Light Mode.

There is a maximum of 12 pins. The pin with the white head points to your current location. The screenshots above show a small tree. Try it in a large tree and you will immediately fall in love with it.

Currently the pins inherit the color of the Tree Path Trace. You can adjust the color here: Configuration | Colors and Styles | Highlights & Dark Mode | Current Tree Path

Alternatively you can also make them match the color of your breadcrumb bars for each pane with this setting: Configuration | Colors and Styles | Highlights & Dark Mode | Tree path tracing | Match color with breadcrumb bar
  • Custom Colored Tabs. Now tabs can be individually colored.

For example, to set a new background color right-click the tab header and select Background Color.... In the pop-up dialog use the button Select Color... to open a color picker. Or, if you are nerd enough, simply type in the hex color value (RRGGBB). Finally click OK and admire the newly colored tab header.

Step 1: Right-click the tab header.

Step 2: Click the "Select Color..." button.

    Step 3: Click OK.

    Step 4: Done.

To set a new text color do the same using the Text Color... item in the tab header’s right-click menu.

  • Wheel Scroll Lines. Now you can customize the number of lines that are scrolled for each notch that the mouse wheel is rotated, independently of the host system settings.

Simply enter the desired value here: Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Safety | Usability | Wheel scroll lines.

  • Compilation Soundtrack. Compiled to the music of Gillian Welch & David Rawlings.
