XYplorer 28.20 (64-bit) has been released on 26-Jan-2026. Here’s a quick introduction to the main new features:
Zoom To Cursor. The image preview now offers a feature called "Zoom to Cursor", also known as cursor-centered zoom. With this feature, you can use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out on a specific point in an image. It's a game changer for those interested in image detail.
Suppose you want to find out what happened on a winter day about 460 years ago in an imaginary Europe. With all the available accuracy. All you need is this beautiful painting, Pieter Bruegel's Hunters in the Snow (Winter) from 1565 (more information) and XYplorer, and you can easily delve into the smallest details.
Select your image file, open the Floating Preview (F11), open the right-click menu and ensure that "Zoom by Wheel" and "Zoom to Cursor" are both ticked:
Checking the configuration, looking good.
Now just wheel into the parts you want to see closer.
Air.
Earth.
Fire.
Water.
Note that Toggle Zoom (press G) will toggle between full view and zoomed detail.
Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Note that you can move the previewed section by dragging it with the left or right mouse button, depending on whether Mouse Down Blow Up (press M) is enabled.
Many Other Improvements. See change log (about 3 MB).
