XYplorer 28.40 (64-bit) was released on 22-Sep-2026. Here's a quick introduction to the main new features:

  • Repeat Last Command. A humble toolbar button that's a real usability monster.

    Select Repeat Last Command in the Help menu to repeat the last used command. Simple as that, and that's exactly the point. You don't have to remember where in the deep menu structure that last command was located (e.g. File | Rename Special | MP3 Special | ID3 Tag to Filename (Artist - Year - Album - Track - Title.mp3)), and you don't have to go there or remember the keyboard shortcut. Instead, just click Repeat Last Command.

    Here are some additional tips:

    • Assign a keyboard shortcut to the command, e.g. Ctrl+R, via Tools | Customize Keyboard Shortcuts... (Shift+F9).

    • Add the "Repeat Last Command" button to the toolbar via Tools | Customize Toolbar... (Ctrl+Shift+F9).

    • The button's right-click menu has the seven last used commands. And here you can opt to include clicks on toolbar buttons in the recent commands
    • Nice added value: If you ever wondered what you just clicked, this toolbar button's tooltip will tell you.

  • Interface Redesign. Work in progress. 50% complete.
