hmm so you want to move all (Up, Back, etc) too into this submenu "Go" ?
Actually, I'm a bit unsure about this... I mean I really like having the "Up" one right there on top the the menu. Everything else but "Up" in a "Go" submenu would be fine for me, having to go in the submenu for "Up" too... I might not like that so much  But in the end, it's up to you ;)
Wouldn't it be more logical in the tree's context menu?

Or, to throw out some unusual ideas (combine or alter as you wish):
1. List:
- pop Go menu when right clicking the first row (or upper half)
- pop Edit menu (as is now) when right clicking the other rows
2. Tree
- pop Go menu when right clicking the left half
- pop Favorites menu when right clicking the right half

Yes, it is exotic. But once you have internalized it, it might be quite useful...

hmm.. I don't know, it's actually always been very natural to me to find thoose on the List ctxt menu.

The first idea can be interresting yes; but has to be first/second half, first row is just not good. Upper half for the Go menu, and Lower half for the Edit menu sounds nice though yeah....

But I'm not sure about doing same on the Tree somehow. Not sure why, but it doesn't sound so good (to me) to have this on the Tree. What might be part of my thinking is, I have my Tree usually quite tight already, because a/ I want the List as wide as possible, and b/ I got the Catalog under it.....

Actually, if I'd dared, What I'd suggest for the Tree is a new ctxt menu of its own (ie. not an already existing one poping up); make like this:
- Go (submenu)
- Special System Folders (submenu)
- (separator)
- Fav Folder 1
- Fav Folder 2
- Fav Folder 3
- etc....
- (separator)
- Favorite Files (submenu)

Since this thread has the correct title for my post, I'll reopen it:

In Xplorer2, a somewhat similar feature to breadcrumb is available but in what seems to be a slightly easier way to access it...and that is: You can click on the components of the current path in the title for pane to go there...as you hover over that portion of path, it changes color so you know which level folder you'd go to if you click on it.

In XY world, that would mean breaking the tab title into parts that can be clicked on separately...the downside to this would be the amount of area that could be clicked on for tab functions, and possibly where one could hover to see total path name.

Comments please?
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Well, I think Don is pretty happy to have a Breadcrumb that takes no screenspace at all & is usable through keyboard only! ;)

Besides as you mention once you start having a couple of tabs, not the full location is shown but only parts, even worse ;) you can rename tab & have no location shown whatsoever, so....

The rename part would nullify it, and yes, when not all parts show, it would be only partially usable...but just wanted to throw out the idea for any ex-X2 users (or potential X2 converts) who may be missing that ability...

(It was doing a few sync tasks in X2 yesterday that reminded me of this)

I know the x2 breadcrumb, very nice (nice app as well :) ), but as has been said, it does not fit so smoothly in my GUI.

Have you tried shift+right click (not easy with a touch-pad) on the pane title bar in x²?
