Well, just checked it.

I am able to go to the browser (IE) and type:
http://www.xyplorer.com/download/xyplor ... nstall.zip

and i get the beta, i did not sign in at all.

That style of URL is still public via typing but not listed on XY public site...though it is available in one other "place" that Don has allowed.

OK, kind of false alarm. When you download the file on softpedia you just get the official 8.80.0000. So just somebody (who? why?) wrongly updated their version number display.

On a related note, I found this site http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4852-xyplorer.html where the vers listed is the rather old 8.00 from last June! Is this a valid site and if so, how do we get it up-to-date?
