i have all my folders sorted by filename in ascending order.
however, i would like this one particular folder sorted in descending order without changing the order of any other folder.

is this possible?.
i thought i saw some Configuration setting along the lines of 'dont remember setting for each folder' but can't find it again (if it was there at all)

Windows Explorer used to have this unique feature (maybe more by accident than design)

So, I go to Documents, Program Files etc, they are sorted ascendingly, go to my Invoices folder and it's sorted descendingly, back to Pictures and back to ascending automatically.

any advice would be appreciated.

Folder View Setting (FVS) might be your friend.

There are many features that XY has which, unless you know what they are called in XY terms, you may have trouble locating...this has always been a problem with software because especially for features which are somewhat unique to a given product, finding what it's named may not be easy so just ask here if you need help in locating some of thse...not saying that XY has everything but it has a bunch of things with names that aren't immediately obvious to some users...I'd suggest reading thru the various pages on XY site that describe prior releases and the features that were added by them as they have some of the best descriptions available.

I've been struggling with this one large folder that I want to always be reverse sorted by date. I saw the new 'custom sort order' feature and tried to get it to work. It didn't.

So, before creating a new topic I thought I'd search first and found this.

This post is kind of old and i imagined the settings changed over time.

but for people like me who found this forum post and tried to find it, i could not, not as the same one

for me it was this path:

Configuration >Find and Filter >Filters &Type Ahead Find > Visual Filters > Persist Visual Filters across Folders

Now i can have my dowload folder by date and big icons

and my doom folder sorted by type and smaller icons

hope this helps any future people with this same problem.

Little hint for when you struggle to find some option in XY: Help > List All Commands = type various worlds and you'll surely find the command and where it's located(Setting window has same live-search).
