Would it be difficult to program a "toggle icon" so a user could quickly and easily toggle between two or more loadable configurations, or tabsets, with a single click. This would simplify the current process of opening up a second Tracker window to load an alternate configuration, completing a task, then closing the window and returning to the original window -- helpful for those of us who use computers extensively for a multiplicity of tasks.

To take me as an example, my hard disk is full of folders and files, mostly related to (1) my freelance work-at-home, (2) digital photography, and (3) MP3 files. I would set up 3 configurations: Work, Photos, and MP3s. So for example, during a break in my work I could either quickly toggle to the "Photos" configuration to select a photo for e-mailing or to the "MP3" configuration to listen or download to my MP3 player, then toggling back to "Work" to continue working.

(TrackerV3's Favorites are already available at a single click, but this list could become unmanagable and would be unorganized.)

I envision a toggle icon functioning as follows: if two configurations have been set up, left-clicking on the toggle icon would take the user back and forth among the two. If three or more configurations have been set up, left-clicking would cycle among configurations, while right-clicking would bring up a list of configurations for individual selection.

Would this be a useful enhancement of TrackerV3 for anyone else out there??

I can see the benefits of this. I think it could come in pretty handy. It seems as though the plumbing is there for it.

If it were implemented, though, my suggestion would be instead of having to right-click on the button to select from a list of configurations, have the button be one of those split drop-down buttons (I don't know what they're called). Like the Back/Forward buttons in Firefox & IE. If you click on the main part of the button it'll cycle through the configurations (that's fine), but if you click on the right side of the button it'll drop down a list of configurations to choose from.
