file extension cut off for some files while others are not

Why is the file extension cut off for some files while others are not?
The other columns are expanded. This happens in multiple folders.
It is only text file extension affected and it is 10 of 11 text files in the folder where I took the screenshots while 1 shows the .txt extension.
