International letters in text raw view seem like garbage.

XYplorer version 28.20.0300 on Windows 11, 100% screen scaling.
I have two greek text files containing the same greek word in them ("Ελληνικά"). The one is in ISO-8859-7 encoding and the other is in UTF-8 encoding. Unfortunately, raw viewing it produces garbage.
It should display the word "Ελληνικά", but it displays "AeecieeU" (ISO-8859-7) or "II»I»I·I½I?I?I¬" (UTF-8).
I specifically remember older versions to display correctly. Can you reproduce?

Can you upload the files?
These samples
samples.7z
are ANSI, UTF8 and UTF16, and are previewable as they should..

Your files preview badly on my pc (but properly on yours, I assume), so I will try something and will get back to you. XYplorer seems not to be the problem here...

The Raw View tab shows the raw bytes (hence the name) represented in the usual way as 256 ANSI characters, or in hex codes if you choose so. To see Greek characters, use the Preview tab.

Windows Settings > Time& Language > Language > Administrative Language Settings > Language for non_Unicode Programs > Change System Locale > Set current System Locale to Greek (Greece)..
This is for Windows 10, but it must be close to that for Windows 11 too.
If you have Windows 11 and can't find it, tell me to find the correct instructions..

Oops!! Just paid more attention to the Screenshot..
You're absolutely right, I totally misunderstood the problem..

That's one of the first things I do when I install Windows. That wasn't it.
But I noticed two things:
1) I must have mis-remember seeing non-ANSI greek characters correctly under "Raw". I now tend to believe that there was NO xyplorer version that displayed non-ANSI greek characters normally. After all, as "admin" said, it displays raw bytes. You are supposed to see garbage.
2) Here is something interesting, though...
All 32-bit xyplorer (up to latest version, 27.20.1000) display the greek characters ok in ANSI.
All 64-bit xyplorer (up to latest version, 28.20.0300) display the greek characters garbled in ANSI.
Isn't that strange?
I no longer think that my submission is a bug, but the (2) is a bit peculiar, imho.

Are you using a Greek codepage? In that case you may indeed see Greek within ANSI. (Did not test)

Yes, in my regional settings, I have Greek.
However, 32-bit Xyplorer shows it good in raw, but 64-bit xyplorer shows it as garbage.

I tested it, and I think you confused Preview and Raw View again. None of the versions (x32 or x64) shows Greek letters in the Raw View tab here when the system codepage is set to 1253 (Greek).

No, see here. Left is 28.20.0300.x64, right is 27.20.0900.x86, both in raw view.

Interesting! Could you also show a screenshot of Help | Various Information, please.

Test it here too with a really old 32bit version 23.0..
ANSI Raw view shows "Ελληνικά"..
