:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Custom folder icons do not work on paths containing square brackets [ ]

Post by José Ángel »

**Custom folder icons do not work on paths containing square brackets [ ]**

**XYplorer version:** 28.20.0200 (64-bit)
**OS:** Windows 10 / Windows 11 (64-bit)

**Description:**
Assigning a custom icon to a folder fails silently when the folder path contains square brackets [ ] in its name. This affects both local and network paths.

**Steps to reproduce:**
1. Create or navigate to a folder whose path contains square brackets, e.g.:
R:\SharedFolder\[LN.02]-[LAB.INS]\Documents
2. Right-click the folder and try to assign a custom icon
3. The operation appears to complete without error, but the custom icon is not applied

**Expected behavior:**
The custom icon should be assigned and displayed correctly regardless of whether the path contains square brackets.
