:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Find Files > Location - history erased and stopped saving

Post by Riva »

XYplorer 32bit, v 27.20.1000 and some older version I forgot to write down.

1. Today I found out, that under Find Files > Location the history of locations is suddenly empty.
Yesterday there were about 6 locations. Including several I frequently use.
I did not clear the history. I did not do any changes to settings.
Previously, searched locations history was automatically stored there and persisted between sessions. I assume that's intended behavior (?)

2. I tried to re-add my 3 favorite search locations using Menu bar > Tools > List Management > Find Files: Location. Adding to the list and using Menu bar > File > Save Settings.
I verified the added locations showed in Find Files > Location history.

Closing and starting XYplorer, the history and list are empty again.
Tried several times with same result.

Is it a bug or did the behavior change ?

Check your settings here: Configuration | General | Startup & Exit | Save Settings | Include most-recently-used lists on save

You may have accidentally turned it off.

Yes, the option was turned off.
Thank you.

Does that also explain that the list got cleared on it's own ?

It's forgotten between sessions.
