Folder aliases broken in CopyTo/MoveTo (64 bit)

  • 28.10.0200 (64-bit)
  • Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit, Version 25H2, Build 26200.7462 (10.0)
  • Primary Screen DPI: 96 (100%)
I have a folder alias, which I see correctly in ID#633 - Tools|List Management|Aliases..., which appears in the list as "EXTREME=D:\Projects".

If I enter "@EXTREME" in the address bar, XYplorer navigates there correctly.

However, if I select some files and then use the 'Copy To' or 'Move To' dialogs, the text "@EXTREME" appears correctly with the blue heart icon in the 'Browse' edit field, BUT when I click the 'Copy' button I get an error box which says:

"---------------------------
XYplorer 28.10.0100
---------------------------
The destination you have selected does not exist:

E:\Backups\@EXTREME\

Do you want to create it now?
---------------------------
OK Cancel
---------------------------"

XYplorer seems to have changed the target drive letter to 'E:' in the copy / move command from the "D:' that appears in the alias list via command ID#633.

This seems to be an issue in the latest version (28.10.0100 or later) as I was using the function quite happily a few days ago with all else identical to the environment details at the start of my post.

Hm, I don't think this ever worked. :eh: But I can make it work.

Thank you! I do think it worked previously in 32 bit version, and also (though my memory isn't what it used to be!) in earlier 64 bit.

It will be nice, either way, to be able to use it. I may be the only one, but I (previously) used that feature nearly every day!

I think this might be related: I created an alias like so (via Tools->List Management->Aliases...):
@home=E:\Users\John\

When I type "@home" into the address bar I get:
Alias not working.PNG
This should work, shouldn't it?

@JohnM: In the LM Alias dialog there should be no @ prefix it should just be home=E:\Users\John\

Thanks for that.
