Questions:
1. Can you have the Preview pane - ctrl + F11 on the right side instead of the middle?
Navigation pane - Shift + F8 > Preview pane - ctrl + F11> List of files pane

2. Also can the HTML icon have a thumbnail of the webpage instead of the Firefox icon?
Firefox is my default web browser.

Windows 10 Pro 22H2
IrfanView 26.30.0100

1. Untick Window | Arrangement | Preview Pane to the Left

2. No, unless you find a HTML thumbnail handler that does the job.

Thanks, that worked out.

In more searching I came across a old program called 'HTML Explorer Thumbnails' that I remembered probably from Windows XP days.
It created the preview thumbnails. Since Windows Vista and onward, microsoft removed the ability to display thumbnails preview for HTML files.
Also cannot play animated gifs like XYplorer can.

In a Windows File explorer Preview pane you do not get to see the webpage as you can in XYplorer but only the code...
More reasons that XYplorer is a better file manager.
