The F3 'Search' ALWAYS gives me the 'This view is empty' result, even when I know that the folder I'm searching contains files that should be found.
I am probably missing something very obvious here. What do I need to do, please?

Make sure the magnifying glass button in the lower left of the dialog isn't depressed.

I see that when NOT depressed the Search Box shows 'Quick Search'. When the magnifying glass is depressed the box says 'Find Files', although the instructions don't change. It's not clear to me what it's looking for then - complete file names?
