Potential user error. Unusable during file transfers. 25.10

I recently installed XYplorer 25.10 and while I do like it, I'm having a small issue in that when I am copying or moving files between drives, the program is completely unresponsive. I think it's fairly likely to be a settings issue as I haven't messed around with settings much except to check that nothing looked funny in the file operations settings. Also if I'm in the wrong part of the forum please let me know because this is my first post. Thanks in advance.
Update: installed 25.60 same deal.
update: copy and paste transfers/cut and paste transfers work fine. drag and drop transfers do not run the xyplorer progress dialog but run the default windows progress dialog instead. during the transfer the program will not respond to hovering or clicking except to populate an error stating: "An action cannot be completed because a component (Program Manager) is not responding. Choose "Switch To" to activate the component and correct the problem."
after clicking "Switch To" as directed, the error populates again as soon as I click anywhere in the window.
if anyone wants to take a swing at it below is my computer info and configuration.
computer info:

xyplorer config:
XYplorer.txt

If you are copying/moving large amounts of data between drives, you should do it in the background: Configuration | File Operations | File Operations | Background Processing | Enable background processing

thankyou for your reply. I don't want to be a bother but would you mind helping with this as well? After enabling background processing, I started a transfer, when I try to click in the window during the transfer an error populates. The error is "An action cannot be completed because a component (Program Manager) is not responding. Choose "Switch To" to activate the component and correct the problem."
after clicking "Switch To" as directed, the error populates again as soon as I click anywhere in the window.
this is only during file transfer, after the file is done transferring the error goes away and everything returns to normal.
any idea what could be causing that?
if this isn't another settings thing I may try uninstalling and reinstalling.
thanks again for your help

"... a component (Program Manager) "
What kind of transfer did you start? Move or copy? Across volumes?
And note that you'll get feedback in the status bar when a background process starts. Did you get that feedback?

What happens when you just don't click anywhere until you see feedback in the status bar?

The transfer completed before feedback showed. When the Transfer was at 99 percent I tried clicking in the window and it populated the same error. Transfer took about 15 minutes.
Also I checked what happens when I copy and paste instead of drag and drop and it works perfectly when I copy and paste.

Yes it is.
Sidenote: best support for an application I've ever had
