Error 16 - too complex issue - possible workaround

Seen several posts on this especially with .webp files. Happened to me and was one of those frustrations. Like others I'm using the K-lite pack with icarios. I happened on a workaround that makes this functional for me and may help others or point to a possible fix.
In the settings for image preview there is an option to limit the preview size. Default is 2000 px. I found if I changed it to the height of my screen (1080 px) in all the .webp previews work normally without the error. Wondering if trying to scale it to its actual size when its bigger than the current monitor dimensions could be a cause. Either way this work around does work for me and may help others.
