XYplorer Beta Club

I don't remember this happening before but when I open a file by double clicking on it from within XYPlorer the file opens in the application but then XYPlorer jumps back in front of the application. I am using Windows 11 and XYPlorer ver 25.5. Any ideas how to change this?

Strange, that should not happen. Is this a specific file type/application, or any?

Anyway, try unchecking this, it might make a difference:
Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Mouse | Allow dragging from a background window

Thanks for the response!!! Allow dragging is not checked. Your question about specific file type or application led me to do a bit more experimenting, it appears it is only office types of files (xls, ods, doc, odt, ). PDF, jpg, png and others I tested work fine.

The interesting thing is that both Libre Office and MS Office files have the issue. It is also happening on both of my computers and I don't remember having the issue before I updated XYPlorer, however I am not entirely sure of that. I also had not updated XYPlorer in almost a year.

I also just checked and if I open those files via Windows Explorer everything works correctly.

Not sure where to go but I will keep playing

Changed the default application for opening txt files to Libre Office Writer, Libre opens txt files and stays in front, still goes behind XYPlorer with doc and odt files. Still playing

What if you press ENTER instead of double-click?

Pressing enter gives me the same result. The file opens in the app and then XYPlorer comes back to the front.

Do you have any preview pane open in XY?

I always have the preview pane open. I closed it and now XYPlorer stays in the back. Interesting,,,

Did you maybe set the PreviewDocsFocusStealFixExt tweak to those Office extensions?

Not that I know of. I don't really know where to look but I did not see anything like this in XYPlorer preview settings. I did find the following line in the configuration file, there is not a semi-colon at the beginning of the line so I assume it is not commented out, should it be?

PreviewDocsFocusStealFixExt=msg

Ok, thought so.

That was my last idea for now. Cannot explain it (nor reproduce it, of course).
