deleted cache xyplorer but old paths are still there?

Did a Google search on this "deleted cache xyplorer but old paths are still there"
I selected all the items and did a Shift+Del. Is there another 'correct' way?

Is there anything other than time and use that will fix that?
Keep finding paths with a leading "?" and an obsolete path.
