Context menu shows strange description

When I select more than one file and right click, many context menu items show {A4756F80-4AE7-4A1F-A776-F5E9D9804406} as the description. Selecting more than one folder works, selecting a combination of files and folders works. It is only when selecting multiple files. Explorer doesn't have this problem. I've tried uninstall/reinstall, reboot. Using 25.00.0200.

Explorer shows the 64-bit context menu. I assume you are showing the 32-bit one in XYplorer? The makeup of that menu is controlled by Windows. I'm guessing that's some registry filth that shows up in that menu. Probably every registry file in the world is messier than Twitter because everyone can write to it. You could try to google that GUID and find out who's behind it.

I'm using the 64-bit context menu. Oddly, Google returns no hits. That Windows Explorer doesn't exhibit the behavior made me think it was an XYplorer thing. I may have to live with it. It just looks messy.

Look for it in the registry.

hi! have you scanned your PC using MBAM, Windows Defender, etc. lately ? i didn't do a lot of searching, but the search engines i used, e.g. DuckDuckGo, etc. all show that the context menu entry shown in your screenshot is injected as part of a "Trojan.DownLoader18.40157_6bd1a1e178" infection.

I've scanned my system with Defender and TrendMicro. Both show no problems. I've poked around the registry, but I don't know what I'm looking for.
