Any way to stop this "Automation error"?

Whenever I highlight a video file XYplorer displays the message "playing failed: Automation error". You can see an example in the screenshot. Is it possible to stop this error from occurring?

You need a Codec that can play MP4.

Or, if you highlight your files by clicking on the icon, and you don't want the Quick Audio Preview, then untick this:

Configuration | Preview | Mouse Down Blow Up | Mouse Down on Thumbnails and Icons | Audio preview

My "Audio preview" options was already unchecked. Also, I already have a codec that can play mp4. If I highlight an mp4 file in XYplorer I can see a preview in the preview panel. Same for File Explorer.

-Thanks

When I highlight an .mp4 video file, I get the "playing failed: Automation Error" as shown in the screenshot in my original post. Is there a way to stop XYplorer from displaying this error? It seems to have an issue with the preview of .mp4 files. FYI, I can double click on an .mp4 file and play it from within XYplorer. It's not a codec issue.

Sorry, I cannot follow you. Maybe somebody else can...

That's incredible that you cannot understand the problem even with a screenshot. Maybe someone else will...

Do you have "Use status bar template" enabled in Config-Templates? If so, what did you write in that text box?

Nothing is entered in the text box "Status Bar" and the "Use status bar template" is unchecked.

I resolved this issue by changing the following configuration item:

tools -> Configuration -> Preview -> Preview -> Video Preview -> Check "Preview as thumbnail".

Showing a mp4 file as thumbnail is not previewing a video.
If a real preview doesn't work, something is wrong with your Codec or the installed Preview handler.
