Change Windows Programs' Default File Explorer?

Hello all. I am loving XYPlorer so far. This question is barely anything to do with xyplorer functionality but I thought this would be the best place to ask. When I use programs like Firefox to open a file from my computer, unfortunately it still opens in an instance of Windows Explorer. This is the same in all programs (Chrome, and any program that is tasked with opening a local file), despite my default file explorer being set to XYplorer. Does anyone know what steps I would take to change this behavior? I looked all over mozilla forums and in firefox settings, but don't see anything.

Those apps are hard coded to open Explorer, you can't change it, a workaround though is something like this.

The linked script prevents normal Explorer usage to much.
I prefer a less invasive method to get the requested behavior
in Open/Save dialogs.
I use the AHK script Quick Switch which works similar to the Listary function with the same name.
The script supports many file managers including XY.
