Floating window for Address Bar and Filter Box

Hi,
Like all the computer's old-timers, I use the command line a lot:
In the standard layout, the Address Bar and Filter Box are very far apart in the interface when you're using a wide screen (and especially if you use dual pane + preview).
It might be interesting to put these two elements (together) on a little floating window?
Or
put them above the tabs (and one for each in dual pane mode)?
