Can we have an option to show thumbnail dimension in the name,reason is if it shows dimension on the thumb then it doesn't look well.

In the name? You mean rename the file adding the dimensions to the filename?

It's built in by factory default. Select an image file, then click the Open With toolbar button and click "Append Image Dimensions to Filename".

thanks,but doing that way ruins the whole thing,the file names are changed,can this be achieved by showing the dimensions in a bracket in thumbnails mode only,without appending the name.

While the OP may be talking crazy, I'd like to use this feature. However, when I select an image file (in this case .jpg) then click the Open With toolbar button, I get a different menu. I've tried both a left-click and a right-click on the button. Might it be because I have a CFA assigned?

Left-click

Right-click
Rclick.jpg

You probably deleted the default entry or unchecked it, below it is provided so just enter it into CFA dialog.

|"Append Image Dimensions to Filename" {:Image}>::e|rename , '*-<prop #image.dimensions>'

I understand, you would like to see the dimension in the caption, similarly to the appearance when the "Overlay caption" is on, but not on the thumbnail, rather under it. The dimension could have an option about the placement: show it on the thumbnail or in the caption somehow (concatenated, above or under)

I don't think it would happen soon though. If you are desperate enough, you can do it yourself. Switch to "Details with Thumbnail" view, then add a new custom column containing the dimension right next to the Name column. Or you can create another custom column where you concatenate the name and the dimension in brackets.
