A jpg, pdf and word.
Pdf was working for the longest time and has not for about a year.
Is it the goal to have them all display similar to the JPG?

It looks like you have SumatraPDF installed ?
If yes, why didn't you enable its options to generate thumbnails and previews
on the installation.

Sumatra was installed years ago. There has been many updates since then.

What do you think which software creates PDF thumbnails in your system ?
Install the actual SumatraPD version and look on the options in the installer screen.

Thanks for your interest.
I have had the PDF-XChange Editor. ... paid version - for many years. I also have had the free version for many years - to run the XY. I do not recall updating it so perhaps XY is changed.
I did a quick google which got me the following:
"Sumatra PDF is a free PDF, eBook (ePub, Mobi), XPS, DjVu, CHM, Comic Book (CBZ and CBR) reader for Windows. Sumatra PDF is powerful, small, portable and starts up very fast. Simplicity of the user interface has a high priority. PDF readers have, over the years, managed to earn themselves something of a reputation for being slow, lumbering beasts - thanks largely to Adobe Reader. Sumatra PDF bucks the trend. It is small, svelte, lightweight and lightning fast."
Found no evidence that there is a paid version or that one can make changes to any Sumatra settings.
I am patiently waiting for Don to discover a more or less permanent fix for this.
I know he is working hard on things other than this and for every two steps forward it is one back.

I don't see what Don should fix here ?
Thumbnails and PDF preview in XY are working fine with PDF-XChange and also with SumatraPDF.
Many users here have one or both of them with no problems
using the actual XY version.

I meet the same problem with last version of Pdf-Xchange. I went to Help>File Association and changed Preview and Thumbnail to Yes in Pdf-Xchange and it fixed Preview.
