I'm thinking of buying 12 XY pro for our company but the lack of better thumbnail quality(explorer shows better thumbnails than XY,I've tried all the 4 types of qualities) ,breadcrumb bar font customize,tab font customize,TAF automatic timeout and not dark tab borders is stopping me to buy.You need not add all features in one day.

the first pic is from do and second from XY,the quality of grapes is very clear in do and in xy it isn't so.

Something is wrong on your system or settings.
Downloaded this images and looked on the thumbnails.
They are displayed fine with the better quality of your comparision.
Tested in Explorer and XY.

Agreed. There must be something amiss with lakeir's system. XY creates flawless thumbnails (especially with Smooth/Neutral settings.)

As I don't see any quality problems in Explorer or XY with your samples
there is no reason to install Directory Opus just to see other thumbnails.

Directory Opus its one of the file managers I would never buy.
Its to expensive and they want money for each major upgrade.

Using Life time licenses for Total Commander and XYplorer
which both are valid for any number of PCs a user has.
is a much better deal and dopus has no big advantages compared to them.

I used DO intensively for a week and was dissatisfied with several aspects which I now forget. But it was that dissatisfaction at the time which made me look for something better which is when I found XY.

If i clear the thumbnail cache will i then get clearer thumbs

You shouldn't need to clear the cache. Make sure you have the highest quality thumbs selected, Smooth. When in your image folder run Refresh thumbnails from the View menu > Caches > Refresh Thumbnails, which is the same as running CID #501 from a Run script or the address bar.
