Slow context menus

Sometimes context menus (right click) seem to come up really slow (2-3 seconds) and sometimes sweetly blazingly fast.
I haven't been able to figure out any pattern (clicking directories, files of diff types, empty spaces)...
Any ideas as to probable cause?
Merci beaucoup

It can take a moment for all other applications to get the menu done (archive app such as WinZip, anti-virus, etc). So right-clicking for the first time in a file might be "long", while the next time usually won't.
PS: little tip, for using suich features as Cut/Copy/Paste you should never right-click on an item directly, but an empty area instead. Because this is a XY onyl menu, shows up instantly all the time, and it features all the clipboard command and won't loose your current selection (unlike with other (stupid) file managers...)

Excellent. Thanks for the tip

I'm wondering what I may have done to my system, as I'm now getting the same issue (2-3 sec delay) on list context menus...but...I'm also having the same delay on Win Expl, so it's just not a XY thing...and I've not installed any new context items that I know of recently...any ideas?
