In Nautilus file manager (Linux), you can simultaneously view contents of more than one folder. See http://mylinux.suzansworld.com/bilder/nautilus.jpg

Some kind of "full-content" view...
Image
..could be quite useful to reorder files into a bunch of (sub)folders yeah. Not sure if it's gonna happen though...

Hmm... like a cross between tree and list. Not sure, would have to try such an explorer first. Is there a nautilus equivalent for windows?

You wouldn't happen to be on the Opera forums with the same username would you?

And wow, I can't believe I didn't notice this before! I think I was playing to much with Beryl to notice this lol.

This is a standard view in the Mac OSX finder (Apple + 2) and is found simply under View > by List. The behaviour works that you can click the arrow/plus (expander?) to the left of the folder to open/collapse it in the current view, or double click the folder to open that folder and only show it and subfolder/files in the list view

Not me, it was Jacky who made it.
