YouTube List Downloader - which?

Hi folks.
It's quite some time now I'm trying to find a replacement for an old incarnation of VideoGet I could parse a list of YT links (not to confuse with YT playlists!) using XYscripting.
C'mon, it's 2015 - there MUST be a solution out there! I'll do ANOTHER search right now and post any useful result here, but countless other attempts left me in the shadows.
So please do your shot if
-downloader supports a YT list of links,
-offers options to whether or NOT convert the videos, but also supports a basic "original, medium or hi-res" detection
-freeware or paid,
-GUI or CLI driven, no matter.
Thanks in advance.

Last time I checked it it was in a stage like
https://github.com/jeckman/YouTube-Downloader
-ie, PYTHON only implementation.
Almost missed the
http://code.google.com/p/youtube-dlg/ out of your hint, highend, which proves my first impression back then: the thing is a DREAM.
Lacks CTRL+A or other method for cleaning the original list/pasting a new one. I'll contact devs anyway.
Thanks a lot for the tip, man!
I'm still open to alternatives, anyway - you never know... so, feel free to shoot them out, people!

PYTHON only implementation
That shouldn't matter. The download contains everything that's needed and no component needs installation -> fully portable.
I use it quite frequently.

I don't think you'll find anything that matches the capabilities of this little gem

Hmmm... python-only is the jeckman's version I was referring to...
And yes, I'm prone to agree that nothing will come even closer to what they offer with YTDL.
BTW, can one of you guys access
http://code.google.com/u/107055133189269066965/ and see if you can PM me author's mail?
Captcha is bitching here, can't tell why. Even different browsers are not delivering the contact mail...

I think it's a googlecode bug
(hint: it's being shut down)
Anyways, the project's
moved to
github. You can contact the dev there.

You'll definitely want to check this,
http://yd.3dyd.com/download/
-it supports multiple URLs (be it a list of URLs or perhaps all the videos of a particular feed/channel)
-yes, it can download the original streams, you can pick the quality for audio and video or let it go awesome quality. Supports DASH and subtitles too
-freeware can only download 5 clip simultaneously. In quality of translator I got a free license key that overrides the limit
-GUI. I don't even remember if there are plans to add some CLI capabilities, you better ask the developer

a quick look on site taught me it's a serious competitor.
it seems to have some basic command line support, now.
worth install...
