Oh yeah my bad I'd replaced the header on my end ages ago, and had disabled that trying to troubleshoot the favicon.
Anyway favicon is back now thanks, but it is the blue one now instead of the main xyplorer.com icon as it used to be when using this style and not the default forum style.

It's supposed to be the blue one for the forum.

Yeah I assumed you'd made the change on purpose, I guess I'll get used to it.

The forum will be migrated to a faster, more powerful database today. There will be brief downtime.

Okay, it seems to have worked well. Let's see if the forum can better withstand bot attacks now.

It's slow and overloaded again. What's going on?

I don't have a clue. But (by now) it appears to be originally related to the provider change.

Today it runs fast without any problems.

Yep. I didn't count, but it seems to go down every five days for about a day. Overall, IONOS has better hardware than HostEurope, but their support is so incompetent that it's useless. HostEurope was better in this regard.

I think I need to switch hosts again. IONOS doesn't seem to be able to provide reliable service. The website has been mostly unavailable lately ("overloaded"). That's really hurting business.

Yes. I got a number of "overloaded" messages late yesterday evening and into this morning - US Eastern Time Zone.

FWIW the forum has been near unusable for me for certain periods of pretty much everyday and multiple times a day, Overloaded message, half loaded pages, beta versions updates frequently won't download etc. I rarely had any issues before the switch, and didn't find it slow.

You could try:

Seated in Germany, 24-hour support (special e-mail address and telephone number for business clients)

I know you're aware of this, Don, but I wanted you to know that it's happening again. After a few days with no issues starting last night the site is frequently throwing "overloaded" messages. And when it's not doing that, the page loads are extremely slow.
Thanks and good luck looking for a new host.

I am very happy and satisfied with
https://www.leo-skull.de/- a smaller company, but reliable and personal service. Been there for years. But ofc I have a much lower volume, so I can't speak about performance under load etc.
