The window of opportunity has closed, but don't worry, you'll get used to it very quickly and you'll love it.

Well, you're lucky, after I finished the job and evaluated it in context and action, I was not convinced. :\ Back to the old ones.

For me, the problem with changing icons is more about "icon sets".
Recently I tried to add some more modern icons in an app of mine, only to create a very ugly mix'n'match set.
At the end, I had to add an option for two different icon sets, because let's face it, not all icons can mix..
As an example:

1l.png

Little request, Don - can you please when making such icon changes add "old ones" as an addition in beta branch, for those who'll seek to rewind the changes with PatchImage. Last time you added old Tree icon, that was very helpful and always easy to remember where to look for.
BTW i like "old" arrows too.

I've noticed a bit of a startup performance hit by using interfacecolors("fafafa|000000"); or I should say, SC interfacecolors in general. For the last week and a half, I was using, interfacecolors("fafafa|000000"); as discussed here viewtopic.php?p=221236#p221236. I wondered for a while what I might have done to cause it, but that was it. For me the hit was approximately 125 msec. I went back to the Windows default using interfacecolors(""); and I'm back to startups around 690 msec.

You have to use it only one time. The values are stored across sessions: InterfaceColors= ...

Oh, hey Don, I knew that, and I did use it only once. My startup time increased by around 125 msec which I saw in Help > Various Information detailed "Load Times". It took me some time over the last week to realize why the times increased. Granted it's not a huge amount, but maybe worth noting.

Edit: Don just for your info, in the detailed Various Information (with Ctrl-Shift), when the interfacecolors("fafafa|000000"); is used, "Layout Status Bar" is seen twice, once before "Load Layout" and once after. When interfacecolors is not used, Layout Status Bar only occurs once.

You're right. There's some extra work that just has to be done. It's the small price you pay for free color choice.

Just please don't make it hard to see window and pane outlines. Apps with new Modern UI "updates" tend that way and it's really annoying.
