That would be the job for Tab Bar Glider not current Tree Glider, don't you think?
Well, I think either actually. It simply providing easy access to targets, in this case tab folders. But yes, you could do something similar with a Tab Glider. It would still work on selected file(s) in the list.

No. This script has nothing to do with gliders. It makes no sense.

I agree that script which doesn't use <g_path> is a waste of Glider script button, but I think that Tab Bar Glider could be useful.

It's a waste and it's misleading. The arrow points to a folder that's not involved. Madness.

For now the tree glider will do. Give it some time to evolve.

I agree and that's why I mentioned that for tabs we would need completely new Glider which will be shown when hovering part of a tab in the Tab Bar. But this is more future talk so I will stop now.

I yield, but I don't know about misleading or madness. It is what it is when you know what it is. My thought was if I was hovering over a target <g_path> and decided at the last minute, I rather copy or send the selected file elsewhere, then I can click on the script button to send it elsewhere instead of the Glider path. I'm still thinking of other script ideas that would utilize both <g_path> and selected file(s).

Could very well be, but you can already do something similar right now by invoking a script like Copyto, moveto, backupto to tab folders_v0.4.xys through a CEA by double click or middle click on tab white space.

OK, I trade madness for abuse :)

Yeah, I'll go with that...abusing a good thing with an unrelated thing. :)

With beta 24.90.0118, the Glider doesn't seem to respect the right edge (i.e., the buttons are cut off at the right edge of the tree). Using these settings; Button size large, Snap to first button, hot zone large, and Hover zone right edge zone. As noted in the beta notes, this snap to first button works best with only one button, but shouldn't it respect the right edge anyway and not be cut off by it or not?

It's the only way to keep the promise ("Snap to First Button"), and I mentioned it in the change log ("The placement does not care about the visibility of the other buttons.")

I did see that in the beta notes, but since it said "other buttons" I figured you meant if you had only one button it might not be hidden. But, I think you were referring to other buttons in a horizontal plane would be surely hidden. That's why I attached the Glider picture with one button. When you use "Snap next to mouse", Glider does not get hidden by the right edge. No problem though, I was just trying out the new options. I'll continue to use "Snap to edge" or "Snap next to mouse".

Surprisingly for myself i like the changes in v24.90.0118 = "Snap to first button" and "All white space" activation zone are pretty useful and add new combinations to use. Totally have no problem with buttons may get hidden out of tree zone, as 1- there is a vertical bar variant, 2- with "All while space" no need to target close to edge, so user actually needs to take an effort to get buttons hidden "outside of tree" by pointing exactly close to edge for some reason.
:ninja: The only thing i still hate about Glider - that it stays in place after button is clicked, making me think nothing happened. As Glider learned to know that user still points to same line, and bar stopped re-creating itself many times while user moves along the activation zone, I'd wish based on this there be an option smth like "Hide Glider after operation"/"Use Glider once" that hides Glider after once used on this row(til obviously user moves away and back on same line). Cause it's obvious i can't desire to copy, then move, and afterwards use some scripted action for same location/in one Glider call.

I decided to give my feedback to the Glider too.
(I wrote in this topic on 4th page, 05 Sep 2023 12:57.)
My settings for today:
Hover zone: Right Edge, All White Space, Snap to Edge, Initial Delay 1.
Button Size: Small-Lage.
Buttons per Row: 1.
Select Buttons: Run script here.
Select Color: 80-240-120-0-255-0.
Overall: very positiv, I see the Glider now and have freedom to move mouse as I wish and not to get the Glider out of view.

hi! one thing i have noticed is the Glider stays visible if it was activated over the last tree item (no entries below it) until i mouse over it again (or move the mouse back into the tree over another entry).

easy to recreate. i'm using the mini-tree and dual panes.
1. hover over your last tree entry and then move into the bottom pane.
2. do anything in that pane and the Glider is still shown.
3. move from the bottom pane to the top - Glider is still visible.
4. move back and forth between panes - Glider is still visible.
5. move back to tree (any place) and the Gilder disappears.

I think I need all your glider settings and a screenshot to understand and reproduce this.
