Much like it is possible to apply colors to catalog items, have a dropdown of saved views so a specific view could be associated with the folder in the catalog.
Surrender, I also would use folder specific settings but I kind of like Allen's idea...as I read it, a variation of Template so one could pick from, maybe, a handful of choices instead of unique ones for each folder..then all that would be needed would be a link/pointer from the folder name to the view layout...and yes, if this was available only for catalog or favorites, that would suffice for now...

Oh!! I missed that post. But sounds like an excellent idea to me. I mean, as of now there are 5 views (excluding thumbs 2 and 3) and 8 sort styles possible, which makes 40 unique folder settings. I dont know if that number is small or big, but if i were to make template setting for my favorite folders would hardly be more than 5. So, i am game for anything here.

Hi there,
i stumbled across XYplorer a while ago and i was pretty impressed. And finally i got around to buy it (on the last day of the recent special offer for 22,50 EUR

).
Since i got used to folder specific settings, let me allow to resurrect this thread. I have some folders where i need a special sort order and/or a different tab order.
As far as i can see it's not possible yet to accomplish such a thing with only one tab. For each of my special folders i would need to open a tab.
I read about some kind of workaround with the catalogue too, so i'll play around with it a little bit to check out how it works.
But just to be up to date: Will there be folder specific settings as described by allen and j_c_hallgren in the (near) future?
Thanks,
Pagat
