Finally got ‘it’ turned off in both places. Hope it is solved now. Had to go at it a number of times before it functioned.

Two other mysteries:
1. The quick search box at the right end of the Address bar does NOT display on the backup PC after every configuration item had been compared to the 1st PC. Is there another secret box that needs to be checked or unchecked?

2. In a similar manner “The empty folders” do not display, with a distinctive color, on the backup PC. It does work in the 1st PC. Is there another simple answer (without Scripts)?

2. Color Filters set differently on the two computers?

Hi Ralph, re #1 worked perfectly!
Number 2 Did a Config/color filters and yes they are indeed different.
Typed in a new line 1 (per attached) and the filter worked perfectly. Typed line 2 that did nothing visually Do you happen to know what it does or intended to do?

Also under Styles/Clipboard Markers/I unchecked Dimmed Icons (saw no result)
Does that apply to the XY Clipboard only - or may it affect other places?

I don't use color filters myself but am sure the help file has a lot of info on it.

alt+F3 for rt side. Would there be a similar thing for the left side - I understand it was hotly debated?

I guess this is a 'non-public' area that this is posted. What is it called and what are the rules?

Window/Arrangement allows you to put it in the status bar at the bottom left of the list, that's it as far as I know.

Don't know what you are talking about re public or not, all the forums here are public.

Not all parts are public but normal users can’t see them anyway
