Creating browseable links in the Start Menu. Can XY do this?

Post by Mesh »

There's something I find particularly useful, but I can only do it in Windows Explorer.

In Windows Explorer, if I open up "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs" (or any start menu location you wish), and then Alt-Drag any folder (the Alt is to make sure I'm creating a shortcut, rather than copying or moving) into any part of the start menu, that enables me to browse the contents of that directory (and execute or go into any of the files) from within the start menu itself.

However, this does not work when doing it with XY.

When it's done through Windows Explorer, it creates a folder with the same name as the one you're linking to, and inside that folder are the files "Desktop.ini" and "target.lnk".

On the other hand, when performing the same action with XY, it only creates a single file - "<folder name>.lnk". This shows the folder as a non-browseable item in the start menu.

Is there any way to duplicate this functionality with XY?
