XY 27.20.1000

When using the Floating Preview on a Word document
No added file association for .docx

What are your preview settings under Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows?

The Word doc is displayed correctly
The error presents when escaping out of the display

You mean when you close the Floating Preview by ESC? Also when you close it with the mouse?

And try to untick Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows | Use 64-bit preview handlers for preview.

Yes hitting (X) to exit produces the same error.
When I untick Use 64-bit preview handlers for preview. the error doesn't present. As I recall, I had to use this to allow MDBU.
I also now notice that MDBU does not work for XL or Word files whether above is enabled/disabled. it just gives a brief refresh.

Well, Office is always problematic. Maybe you should try the 64-bit version of XY.

Good, so you got a working 32-bit preview handler for Office. You're lucky. :)
