Option to disable mini tree loading when not visible

In a VPN situation all the paths that point to a share in that network aren't available (or very slow to load) lead to a very large startup time (more than 20 seconds).
This would be acceptable if the mini tree was visible but in this case it's hidden and the catalog is by default on and contains paths to navigate.

The tree is expected to be there internally, loading it cannot be skipped. The question is, what is taking so long? Does any of this help?

No network browsing at startup is checked, the second one not.
Even if the latter one would help it's not an option to activate it, users do want to see the real icons...

Yeah, it is repeatable. All start-ups take the same long time.

Will v26.70.0614 and 0616 add network paths without trying to access them in this case as well?
