I'm using Windows11 as Host and Windows 10 as a guest on VMWare workstation.
XYplorer is really the best file manager I've ever used but one thing that's unfortunate is that Copying files from VM to XYplorer is not working.
Copying files to normal explorer works well. Other alternative file managers like TotalCommander also works well.
Please fix this and let me use this happily

Re: Copying from VMWare to Xyplorer
I think you'll need to provide some more details in order for anyone to help.
- What version of XY are you using?
- How are you copying the files? (Drag and drop? Copy and paste?)
- Any file format or only specific formats?

- XYplorer version 26.50.0300
- Copy and Paste. Copy file inside the guest machine and paste on XYplorer window on Host.

Hope your great help. Thanks.

Re: Copying from VMWare to Xyplorer
I'm not certain it's an XY issue. Someone else will have to weigh in on this.
I use Virtual Box and I have sometimes seen the same behavior. Doesn't matter which direction I'm going, nor the method of copying. I'd guess it happens two to three times out of every ten that I launch the guest machine. Usually exiting and relaunching the guess solves the issue.
Good luck.

Re: Copying from VMWare to Xyplorer
I've had the issue using drag and drop from guest to host when XY is started as admin on the host.
Copy and paste seem to work fine all the time (I use it as a workaround).
Same set up, Win11 host, Win10 guest.

Was having same issue but working now, at least on a few tests, make sure VMware tools are up to date. Will report back if it starts having issues again.

That can not work.Daniel0312 wrote: ↑05 Dec 2024 14:52 I've had the issue using drag and drop from guest to host when XY is started as admin on the host.
Windows prevents dropping into the higher level process.

Re: Copying from VMWare to Xyplorer
This is really a pain.
Dragging from VMware is like trying to break an egg shell.
We try, try, try and some times it breaks through, some times it swashes into WM's own desktop.
Not to speak about the blurriness of the VM's screen, lack of control about network, etc.
Suggestion:
I did it.
Change to Oracle VirtualBox. Freeware.
It is much more easy and efficient. You can create a (or many) shared folder with the host.
The only problem I found is for games. Maximum of 128MB for video.
