hi!
if i drag/drop a folder or file onto a shortcut, i can copy or move it (as expected). if i copy/cut, the double-click the shortcut to "go to" it's location, i can paste it (as expected).
so far these are normal in XY and every other file manager.
today; however, i was lazy and copied a file to the clipboard and right-click on a shortcut folder and no paste command in the context menu. i tried it in XY, Explorer, DO, etc. and got the same results. apparently you can't do this. never tried before, oh well.
i don't have any issues doing it the conventional way, but would it be something that XY could add (since no one else does) ? i'm guessing XY scripting could plow through it somehow.
basically, copy or cut some thing(s), right-click on a shortcut without actually "going into it" and have the paste ability. if it is already possible, i'm missing something in every file manager that i've tried.

Which context menu do you mean? Over here I get a Paste command in the shell context menu in this situation.GreetingsFromPoland wrote: ↑06 Feb 2024 15:26 today; however, i was lazy and copied a file to the clipboard and right-click on a shortcut folder and no paste command in the context menu.
Anyway, the next beta will support Ctrl+V-pasting into folder shortcuts if "Configuration | General | Controls & More | Miscellaneous | Paste to selected list folder" is ticked.

Re: Pasting Onto A Shortcut
hi! thank you ! before i updated to the latest beta, i tried it again so i could see the context menu and PASTE WAS THERE ! it wasn't there before, i swear. and this is just the default right-click context menu.
argh. i know Paste wasn't there. but then i remember, Paste was missing from the context menu on a shortcut that pointed to a UNC path !
right-click on a shortcut (LNK file) that points to a UNC path : right-click on a shortcut (LNK file) that points to a LOCAL drive/folder : my XY Shell Integration settings :

You could try enabling this:
Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | Drag and Drop | [x] Extended compatibility for clipboard and drag and drop
