moving fast with folders
I got an idea, as you know there is way to move between previous and next folders with alt+left or right arrow but this action means you have to move your hand constantly between mouse and keyboard which is not only annoying also not ergonomically wise to do, I suggest as shift is not in use that you could shift scroll up or down do this action instead? What you think?

If you are still interested in a native solution, right click on the breadcrumb bar (blue color) and enable "Show Navigation Buttons", you will get back, forward, up, and down buttons above each pane, besides that, Shift+Wheel is already used in XY, so your suggestion would clash with existing functionality.

F7 jumps between this and the previous location/tab. I use it all the time.
