Do you guys use any note-taking or outliner software to keep track of snippets, coding tips, syntax errors, version history, technical issues, user complaints,....?
Currently I'm running Ultra Recall but disappointed by its lack of any development for the last 5 years. I'm looking for a better alternative with frequent enhencements just like Don does.
How do you like OneNote, InfoQue, EverNote?

I'm astonished by the modern features of WizKnowledge.
It's developed in China.
And it's a freeware.
Ultra Recall primarily relied on SQLite.
How about WizKnowledge?
Are you satisified with WizKnowledge's speed?
Can WizKnowledge do auto-keying like Ultra Recall?

I use RightNote. It has freeware and portable, in addition to paid and install versions.

Since the times of Windows 98 I daily use Keynote. It's a free software whose development was abandoned by its author in 2006 and released under Public License. http://www.tranglos.com/free/keynote.html

Now there is a slow development of the new version, Keynote NF, and the software (portable) is fully functional in all Windows without any problem. http://code.google.com/p/keynote-nf/
Its best features in my opinion are: all sorts of text formatting (rtf), tree-like structure very easy to browse and sort. Capability to export, import, print and merge notes or just parts of one note. Every command can be freely configured with shortcuts, all the bars and layout can be adapted to personal needs (yes, it's very similar to XY in this...)
Pretty much all of my notes, summaries, lists, information of all kinds are in some Keynote file.
Definitely I'd be lost without it!

Thanks for this tip. Over the years I've run portable alternatives from WinGuide to MemPad, Treeline, CherryTree, TreeSheets - but for some reason never came upon KeyNote. I like its multi-tab feature and customizable shortcuts. Startup is not as fast as others, but still OK, the only downside seems to be the Search function which has weird quirks and glitches.
